About me

Hey there, my name is Roma Karun, I’m an artist a self-taught and my foray into the world of art began in 2013. No fancy backstory or life-changing moments here – just a simple case of curiosity and a love for creating cool stuff. It all started with a whimsical sculpture adorning a decorative bottle. Intrigued by its intricate details and the artistry it exuded, I found myself captivated by the idea of creating something similar. And so, I dove into the world of sculpting.
My creative process is pretty chill. Sometimes I have a clear picture in my mind, other times it's more like a fuzzy outline that gets sharper as I go. Details pop up, colors come alive, and textures start forming.
First, I build a metal frame, like the skeleton of the sculpture. Then, I cover it with foil and start sculpting with this lightweight air clay. It's like shaping clouds!
The final step is painting. I usually use acrylics and dry pigments to give my sculptures a pop of color and make them really come alive. Each stroke is like a burst of emotion, adding a splash of vibrancy to my creations.
My inspiration comes from all over the place – nature, animals, flowers, even the little things that most people miss. It's like therapy for my soul. And of course, I love anything fantastical or realistic. Sculpting is my escape, my happy place where I can let my imagination run wild and turn my dreams into something real. Each one of creatures is unique and special to me. It's a reminder that art can break down barriers and touch our souls.
And the best part is, anyone can learn to do it. All you need is a little creativity and a whole lot of patience. So, if you're ever feeling stuck in a rut, why not give sculpting a try? You might just surprise yourself with what you can create.
